The Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas (TIC Americas), is a regional innovation competition organised by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) in partnership with the Organization of American States (OAS).
TIC Americas was established as a support platform, and business accelerator for young entrepreneur people. It provides orientation, education, training, coaching, seed capital, funding and access to a wide international network. The competition goes beyond the development of a business plan to include support, follow-up, with opportunities for international visibility, networking, and market access.
Regardless of the level of the solution and business model, this program is tailored to help entrepreneurs in their journey to growth. Every year top innovative business solutions are identified trained and coached to foster more sustainable and inclusive development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Since 2007, more than 45,109 young entrepreneurs from 48 countries have participated in TIC Americas, registering a total of 29,692 business proposals.
I had the privilege to serve on the panel of judges for the competition in the years 2012, 2013 and 2014, evaluating the proposals part of the Eco-Challenge Awards, which is looking at social or business projects that offer innovative solutions to environmental problems.
