And following up on the creativity..
I have received some funny links, which I decided to share…
They are all of flash mobs and protests tackling different issues such as affordable health care, gay rights, aiding Israeli Apartheid and even the mess with Ph.D students have to deal with… but all of them have something in common.. and that’s right, it’s Lady Gaga!
Enjoy a short selection here:
Don’t Get Caught in a Bad Hotel!
A flashmob infiltrates the Westin St. Francis hotel in San Francisco and performs an adaptation of Lady Gaga’s song “Bad Romance.” The event was organized to draw attention to a boycott called by the workers of the hotel who are fighting to win a fair contract and affordable healthcare.

Also, one of my favourite ones, made by the Hui Zheng lab at BCM a group of Ph.D students studying Alzheimer’s Disease. That tried to express how they feel on their submission for the Molecular and Human Genetics Retreat 2011 at Baylor College of Medicine. In order to graduate they have to come up with an idea, run LOTS the experiments to proof that idea (which takes normally 5 years more or less) and they need to publish their data…. if they have a bad project, and the experiments don’t work, they have to start all over again, so it could take forever for them to graduate. Therefore they decided to parody Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance with a science twist.
Also worth checking out this parody of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” song made by Sean Chapin, talking about Target’s PAC which donated $31,200 toward anti-gay rights politicians or PACs supporting those candidates, including Kelly Ayotte who resigned her state post in protest of the legalization of gay marriage and same sex adoption, Spencer Bachus who voted to ban same-sex adoption, David Camp who, in addition to supporting a Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage, voted against protecting gays from job discrimination based on sexual orientation, and so on.
Target had an agreement to exclusively sell Lady Gaga’s deluxe album that was cancelled by Lady Gaga due to Target’s donations toward anti-gay politicians.
And yes, Lady Gaga made it even to Gaza, and is used to raise even more sensitive issues… this flashmob was done in December by more than forty members and friends of the St Louis Palestine Solidarity Committee (STL-PSC) that happened at Best Buy and AT&T urging holiday shoppers to Boycott Israeli Apartheid and Hang Up on Motorola!
You can even find anti-gay movements using lady gaga parodies to try calling attention on youtube (which I will not going to share, since I disagree with their hate agenda!).
Regardless of what is your cause.. and the flag you are trying to raise.. it’s quite clear that Lady Gaga might be the way… so get your wigs out, and get creative..
